Question
Consider the situation where a joint account holder deemed to be eligible for CDR, and has at least one open account and also closed accounts.
Is the Data Holder (DH) required to provide the joint account holder with management of their closed joint accounts on the Disclosure Option Management Service (DOMS)? What time period limitations are applicable?
Must account owners be provided with management of all closed accounts, including those closed beyond 24 months, after which period sharing data becomes voluntary
for the DH?
Answer
Management of closed joint accounts must be provided as long as they are still eligible for CDR. The Consumer Data Right Rules note that data or accounts which fall outside the specified period are not required
consumer data. However, the data or accounts could be classed as voluntary
consumer data for CDR.
