The questions and answers below relate to the CDS Energy APIs and related schemas.
The following terms are used below:
- EME: Energy Made Easy
- VEC: Victorian Energy Compare
Question
Should the Get Energy Account Detail APIs provide the latest contract or plan for the account? An account can start with one contract and switch to another.
Answer
The standards allow supplying of multiple plans associated with a customer account, including current and historical plans. The plans array object in the EnergyAccountDetail schema has a start date and end date which can be used to represent the above example.
Question
Is the Get Concessions API necessary? Energy concessions are regulated and should all be the same, so the information does not assist with price comparison.
Answer
The Get Concessions API is required because the rules specify it. The dataset was agreed by Data Holders (Dhs) and Accredited Data Recipients (ADRs) during consultation on Energy API design and the data represented is directly related to the consultations and feedback. We do not attempt to predict the full range of use cases participants may encounter.
Question
Should the DH provide the concession value that was applied in last bill, or the eligible concession amount at the time of providing the response to ADR?
Answer
The Get Concessions API endpoint is meant to provide the concessions that apply to a customer’s account, not the calculated amount resulting from applying the concession. For example, provide:
- the concession card details
- the start date from which the concession is applicable
- the concession to be applied to the account, for example, 5%
Question
Should the DH provide the charges applied on the last bill, or the current charges at the time of providing the response to the ADR?
Answer
The Get Account Details API represents information related to the tailored plan or contract the customer account has with a retailer. It is aligned with the generic tariff payload. The information returned should correspond to the tariff data provided to EME or VEC.
Question
If a field is not specified as inclusive or exclusive of GST, which information should we provide?
Answer
The DSB view is that all charges should be inclusive of GST unless otherwise specified. The information is the same as would appear on an invoice, with GST included.
The DSB will update the descriptions to indicate that GST should be included. This decision is subject to community feedback.
Question
To what does the Authorised Contact refer?
Answer
Authorised Contact refers specifically to any secondary person who can contact the call center regarding the account, but who does not have full operational authority on the account.
Question
What does fixed tariff mean?
Answer
Fixed tariff here means the same as it means when providing data to EME or VEC.
Question
What does EnergyPlanControlledLoad mean?
Answer
EnergyPlanControlledLoad here means the same as it means when providing data to EME or VEC.
