Question
In the current working assets for Decision Proposal 162 | 2.1 Authorisation Flow: Default - Pre-Approval screen 3 and 3a, the account selection screen show a mandatory contextual alert on a joint account which states “The other account holder(s) will be notified. Learn more”.
Is this alert required to be contextual and appear adjacent to any available joint account, or can this alert appear on the Confirm authorisation screen and be non-contextual and generic?
Answer
This notification may occur in several contexts, including outside of the authorisation flow.
The location of the notification is not prescribed. However, the DSB recommends providing this notification in the account selection step, instead of the final confirmation screen, even if it relates to multiple joint accounts.
This notification could still be generic, rather than being an in-line reference to a specific joint account. However a generic alert may conflict with other alerts. For example, it may conflict with the vulnerable consumer alert or with pending status alerts.
