Question
From a Data Holder (DH) perspective, scheduled payments can be classed as forward-dated payments that are supposed to debit the account at some point in the future. Considering this, how far back should a DH go to retrieve payments when responding to a Get Scheduled Payments For Account request?
Answer
DHs can class scheduled payments as forward-dated payments. Ultimately it is at the discretion of the DH. However, DHs should ensure consistency of representation across channels. It is not expected that historic scheduled payments are returned. The response to this request should include only active and ongoing payments scheduled by the DH.
Question
Considering the recurrence object's presence in the BankingScheduledPayment response schema, can a single-time-future-dated payment be classed as a scheduled payment?
Answer
Yes, a single-time future-dated payment can be considered a scheduled payment. The recurrence union in the scheduled payment structure has a onceOff variant specifically designed to accommodate this scenario.
