Guidance on names, nicknames and product names

Nickname field

The field 'nickname' is part of the BankingScheduledPaymentTo object. This field holds the nickname of the payee to whom the scheduled payment is made. 

The nickname is not required in that schema if the toUType is set to payeeId, because when a payeeId is provided, the payee nickname, and other details, can be retrieved from the Get Payee Detail endpoint. 

The payeeId is included in the BankingScheduledPaymentTo schema only if the payee scope has been consented, as the description of that field states.

If the toUType is set to one of the other values, then a nickname for the payee should be provided directly in the Scheduled Payment schema.

If the Data Holder (DH) has not recorded a payee nickname, the DH should derive a short display name in accordance with existing banking channels.

An optional account nickname is also provided in the BankingAccountV2 object.
