Introduction
The following notes are gathered from Subject Matter Expert guidance and responses to participant questions.
Displaying account nicknames during authorisation
In Internet Banking, consumers can choose nicknames for their accounts. For example:
Nickname
: Holiday savings
Account type
:Savings Account
BSB
ACC
On the Data Holder (DH) authorisation account selection screen, the DH can add the nickname that the member has chosen for their account.
The DSB encourages this approach to align with how consumers identify their accounts.
Displaying account nicknames on other account screens
Account nicknames can also be displayed in other screens that display accounts, by both the DH and the ADR.
The nickname is returned to the Accredited Data Recipient (ADR) via the Get Accounts API response in the nickname
field of the BankingAccount schema.
Referring to accounts using their nicknames in account selection steps and on the consumer dashboards helps to ensure consistency and familiarity.
See CDS Guide, Consumer Experience, Dashboards.
