Question

When and how can prospective data recipients apply for accreditation? Who is able to apply?

Answer

Applications for accreditation need to be submitted via the accreditation application form available in the Consumer Data Right Participant Portal. Prospective data recipients will first need to create an account on the Participant Portal in order to submit an accreditation application. To apply for accreditation, and find out important information about becoming an Accredited Data Recipient, including the accreditation process, your legal obligations and other requirements please visit the CDR website. 

Any business is able to apply for accreditation, provided that they meet the criteria for accreditation as stated in the CDR Rules. Currently the CDR Rules only provide for accreditation at the unrestricted level. Authorised deposit-taking institutions are eligible for a streamlined accreditation process.
