Question
A Data Holder (DH) may release an update to their current Get Product API endpoints which may result in an outage. With the Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) are not yet mandatory and the implementation of the Get Status and Get Outages APIs are not yet required, what is the approach to be taken with outages? Are Data Holders able to perform a release, cause an outage to their Get Products/Get Product Details APIs without notifying anyone about it?
Answer
As you say, the Get Outages API is not yet mandated so there is no mechanism for the reporting of scheduled outages.
As this is the case so there is no need to report the outage. You should keep track of the outage, however, and ensure it is not included in your availability metrics as the manual reporting obligations to the ACCC still apply and you may need this data to create your report.
