As LIXI shares many of the same community members as this initiative, I've published a short blog post on how to use the Product List API (for beginners) on our website. It's a quick exploration of how easy it is to work with the APIs using Python (a completely arbitrary decision of programming language).
Spoiler alert - it's VERY easy, it takes only 6 lines of code, and it can be run on an online Python Interpreter, so you don't even need to configure environments or IDEs. I can see some issues that will need to be overcome before the product data can be used directly as the basis for automated product evaluation. The eligibility criteria are currently expressed as strings or URIs, which limits the automation that can be used.
It will be great if we, as a collaborative community, can work to improve how eligibility criteria are expressed, especially if the system moves towards a write access regime.
