Consultations

To manage consultations on changes to the Consumer Data Standards, the DSB publishes Consultation Papers (CPs) and Consultation Drafts (CDs) as issues in the Consumer Data Standards standards repository. Participants are invited to comment on these issues. See CDS Guide, Guide to Consultation Drafts.

Prior to 8 April, 2025, the DSB published Decision Proposals (DPs) for consultation.

The DSB also publishes Noting Papers (NPs) for notification purposes only. Noting Papers are not consultations, and feedback is not invited.

CD369	Consultation Draft #369 - Redirect to App - Draft Standards	Open	This consultation proposes draft standards related to 'Redirect to App', an alternative authentication flow to the existing 'Redirect to Web with OTP'. It discusses Data Holders providing customer authentication using their consumer-facing apps.
CP368	Consultation Paper 368 - Energy Switching Experiment	Open	The DSB and Treasury are running a joint experiment on energy switching in Q1-Q2 2025. The purpose of the experiment is to assess the extent to which the existing CDR framework may facilitate and improve energy switching.
CD367	Consultation Draft 367 - March 2025 Rules - Draft Standards	Open	Consultation Draft 367 contains draft standards to accommodate the NBL sector and buy now pay later (BNPL) products. The accompanying Explanatory Document provides the background and context for these draft standards, as well as an assessment of standards impacts arising from the March 2025 rules.

DP350	August 2024 Rules - Standards Impacts	Closed	The Assistant Treasurer made the Competion and Consumer (Consumer Data Right) Amendment (2024 Measures No. 1) Rules 2024, which commenced on 12 November 2024 (see media release). These rules give effect to the August 2024 draft rules for the consent review and operational enhancements and require new standards to be made.  The Chair has now made binding standards in relation to Decision 350 for: CDR receipts; 90-day notification; amending consents. These standards have a future dated obligation of 14 July 2025 and are reflected in the 1.33.0 standards release.
