Question
Currently the following data fields have been included in the CDS scope for sharing New Payments Platform (NPP) transaction detail with an ADR:
extensionUType
(Optional)purposeCode
(Optional)service
(Mandatory)
Our data team does not have these details. If we do not currently store these details in our core banking system, are we required to supply them?
Answer
The DSB (Data Standards Body) has provided general guidance for scenarios where fulfilling schema requirements is difficult due to the availability of internal data.
The approach is up to the DH (Data Holder). The DSB is not prescriptive as the internal data holder data systems are not visible to us. The options are:
- Determine that you do not have the data to fulfil the extended data schema. In this case you do not provide the extended data and treat the request as a normal transaction
- Define defaults so that the requirements of the schema can be fulfilled and the data you do have is shared. For example you could supply
Not known
as a default value for theextendedDescription
field. - Raise a change request to add additional flexibility in the schema for your scenario
