Question
In the energy sector, at times a customer bill is subject to adjustments caused by certain circumstances, such as amendments in the billing period or revisions in the usage data collected. How are these adjustments accounted for in the Energy schemas?
Answer
There are arrays of adjustment objects, under both usage and demand energy transactions, to accommodate any amendments in the billing period or revisions in the usage data collected. The specific adjustments should be included in the corresponding usage or demand energy transactions. For example, adjustments for usage charges should be included in the adjustment object of usage transactions.
An adjustment object consists of an amount and a description, as indicated in the non-normative examples.
