Closed joint accounts

Continuing obligations in relation to closed joint accounts

Data holders must support data sharing for closed accounts where all account holders remain eligible consumers and where the data from the account has not been excluded under sector-specific rules. For the banking sector, clause 3.2(5) of Schedule 3 to the CDR Rules applies. For the energy sector, clause 3.2(7) of Schedule 4 applies.  

As such, data holders must continue providing services and complying with Part 4A or other rules as necessary in relation to closed joint accounts where all account holders remain eligible consumers.
